AR Interaction in Model Store

Design Prompt & Theme

The design theme is to use the proxemic interaction to reflect the implicit interaction of user experience: fundamentally, the system reacts in a specific way without direct intervention by the user.

Design idea & tools

The design idea is that using augmented reality(AR)  prototype tools to implement a retail environment which is the model store in this project. Before buying a model, every model lover hopes what the model will look like after assembly. Our design idea is that in the retail environment of a model store, when customers enter the store to browse products, when they look at the model box, they can see the model finished display in the AR virtual state, so as to choose their favorite model.

Interaction process & Design Tools 

 We use the Wiarframe website and phone App to develop the AR interaction prototype. The interaction theme is affordances which explores how agent interactions reveal the possibility of interactions to users.

At the first, the consumer enters the model store, the first interaction is when consumer views the box, there will be a virtual ball which shows the "tap here" virtual sign, the consumer will be attracted by the AR phenomenon. Next, the consumer taps the ball, the ball will disappear and the complete AR model will be exhibited in a revolving manner on the box.
